Presentation Abstract

There is a lot of discussion in the technology entrepreneur community about the process of building companies. People have detailed advice for evaluating business opportunities, raising money, hiring and managing your team. However, notably absent from nearly all discussions is how to start a business that is perfect for you. In fact, failure with a new business is often the result of running the wrong business rather than having a bad business idea. Figuring out the right business for you requires a unique process of introspection and self-evaluation. Keith has gone through this process numerous times during his career and will share his advice and perspective on how to find the right business to start.

Keith Schacht is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and had successful exits for three technology companies. In addition, he spent time as a product manager at Facebook managing News Feed and mobile messaging. He is currently working on a new company to create science kits & content. He previously studied computer science and psychology at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
