Re: [ruby-81] Rails 1.2.6 and 2.x co-existing on a Windows box?

You should be able to simply freeze rails into your vendor directory.

I say install rails 2 globally, then in your projects that need 1.2.6 do a

  rake rails:freeze:gems VERSION=1.2.6

which will install rails 1.2.6 locally to just that app.  In fact, some would say its good practice to always vendor your rails in this manner.

Actually, I could just install InstantRails 2.0 in a separate directory, and that would work -- but then I'd have two copies of MySQL, Apache, ... gotta be a cleaner way.

Subject: [ruby-81] Rails 1.2.6 and 2.x co-existing on a Windows box?

Folks...

I'm running InstantRails on a windows box (Rails 1.2.6).  I'm considering installing Rails 2.x for some testing I need to do (OpenLaszlo requires Rails 2.0) but I need to keep 1.2.6 for my other stuff.

On Linux this would be easy, but I'm not sure how to make this happen on a Windoze box.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...jon
