Hi, Assaf... here's what happened when I tried that:

jseidel@EDP15:~/git/cucumber$ git push [address removed]/JESii/cucumber.git master

fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

I'm guessing that indicates a key error of some kind...?

You're missing a colon between the host name and path:

?[address removed]:JESii/cucumber.git?
?
Assaf

?
Thanks...jon

Hi... I've created a git clone of cucumber, made a small patch to get the
snippets to display properly, tested, and committed it locally. Everything
works fine (I've also submitted my patch to the cucumber master and they are
being reviewed for inclusion, but I want to push the changes to my github
clone so that I know I can do it).

I have an rsa key that I created some time ago, and it's installed in git.

I have successfully added the key to ssh (twice, just to make sure):
? ? ? ?cd ~/.ssh
? ? ? ?ssh-add id_rsa

I have successfully tested my connection with github:
? ? ? ?ssh [address removed]
? ? ? ?Hi JESii! You've successfully authenticated, but GitHub does not
provide shell access.
? ? ? ?Connection to github.com closed.

Yet, I still get an error when attempting to push my changes:
? ? ? ?git push ssh://github.com/JESii/cucumber.git master
? ? ? ?Permission denied (publickey).
? ? ? ?fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

Any thoughts on what I'm missing?

The SSH user has to be git. ?Everyone pushes as the user git, Github then uses your public key to figure out which repositories you have write access to (Gitosis works the same way).

Since SSH is the default Git protocol, you can omit it to just git@github.com:JESii/cucumber.git

Thanks much...jon
