Choosing Your Target Customer (Marketing Seminar Series–Part 1/3)

Frankly, marketing is where most new businesses fail. The world’s best marketers a) know their target customer inside and out and b) have a clear place in their target customer’s mind. You have to get these things right for your business to survive and grow. In this session, we’ll talk about customer research, market segmentation, customer targeting as well as competitive positioning and niche strategies. I hope that you will make time to join us.

As always, this session will be part presentation and part group discussion. Please bring your own questions and be ready to discuss your personal business experiences. I’ll prep a presentation based on my own experiences (banking, PE/VC, biz dev) and training (Northwestern/Kellogg MBA).

This is my 2nd time doing this Guide to Marketing Series. The first time around was very well received, so I’m making some changes (thanks for the feedback!). This 3-part series will have repeat sessions at convenient times. You can come to the first session (hosted during the week at Hypepotamus) or the repeat session on Saturday mornings (hosted at different local libraries, see below).
