Taking it Slowly (EPyC Biweekly meetup)

Stuff happens. So check this page regularly to see if the event details have been revised, or if you need to update your RSVP. One thing hasn't changed though: it's still just AED 20 if you want to join us on the evening. With that out of the way, here's what we currently have slated for Tuesday:

Discussion Topic: Time lapse photography (Lewis de Mesa)
Lewis de Mesa is an artist, motion designer and time lapse photographer. He is a co-founder of the art collective, @thebrownmonkeys. His work has appeared in on CNN as well as in Gulf News, The National, and 7 Days. He will be speaking to us about the experience of shooting time lapses during the height of summer, including his work capturing the Milky Way. He last presented to us about shooting in the winter, and the video can be seen below:

Member showcase (Richard Brew)
For this section, members show us 10 to 12 of their best shots, and answer questions about them. Want to try your hand at this in the future? Talk to an organizer.

The Tuesday tip (Ashraf Jandali)
Want advice on how to improve your photographs? Ashraf's here to help.

Photo Competition (Theme: The City at Night)
Please send us two of your images by email ([masked]) by 5 PM on the day of the event, or bring your photos to the event on a USB thumb drive. To make our lives easier, please rename the files so that they have your name in them, e.g. Ahmed1.JPG and Ahmed2.JPG. We all vote on who has done the best job, and the two photographers with the most votes will each win a pass for GPP PhotoFriday. Please note that if you don't show up, or pass your photos to the organizers on time, your shots will not be eligible for a prize.

We will be meeting in Studio Attitude in Al Quoz, in the same series of warehouses as Botanica. If you need help figuring out how to get there, check out the location map, or make use of the GPS coordinates [masked],[masked]). More information on the venue can be found on their site or at 04 3384114.

We also have YouTube videos showing you how to get there from Sheikh Zayed Road, with detailed text directions posted underneath. This one shows the way if you are coming from the direction of the World Trade Centre and Dubai Mall, and this one depicts the way from the direction of Abu Dhabi, the marina, and Al Barsha.

Very good evening, like always...very interesting to learn a little more about "Time lapse", thanks to Lewis. Topped off with your kudos for my photo called "Mustang City" very happy about that and thanks to GPP for putting up the prize, as well as all you EPyC organizers. Thanks very much, I'll put it to good use.
