Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from, are you new in town... ?

I'm living in Dubai since 2008 and spent pretty much the last 10 years working and travelling in various parts of Asia. I'm originally from Germany and learnt about photography when I was small from my dad, who taught me how to handle an SLR with an old Leica SL2 and R3. I took a break for a while as it was difficult to keep shooting while handling all the film rolls.

What specific areas of photography are you most interested in?

I'm fascinated by cityscapes as well as by nature and the enormous variety it lets us experience on Earth - hence I'll try very hard to carry a half decent camera whenever I travel or have some time off. As an example some shots I took in recent months from my flickr account:

What would you most like to learn about or improve in your photography?

I'd love to improve my skill on the following items: Creative use of light, taking better prictures of people (portraits and in action), and Macro Photography

What photography skills can you share with other members?

I'd figure myself to be an amateur - so I believe I can help beginners out teaching them about wha their camera is capable of, about the backgrounds behind the settings and what to achieve with them when taking creative control by using manual or semiautomatic modes, and I can probably contribute some clever ideas when it's about getting them most out of one's kit.

Does your profile photo clearly show your face (and nobody else’s) and list your real name (first name at least)? If you have an objection to uploading a photo, please explain it to an organizer at an EPyC event before submitting your application.

As posted. And yeah, I understand. Participation should be no issue, even though constraints exist with my job and family needing my attention. I'm certainly in favour of your rules against no shows after reserving a space at a meet up.

Hi there, I stumbled on your club through Time Out magazine where I saw one of your meet up announcements. Looked around the website and thought you're doing a great job. Would be great if you'd welcome me among your group. Regards, Guido
