This has to be one of the best trip we offers! A perfect mix of beach, culture, relaxation and party. Our days are spent exploring while in the evening and night we are enjoying the festival that is Sauti Za Busara! The Sauti za Busara (in swahili "sounds of wisdom"), is an African music festival that is held every year in February. This is the largest music festival in East Africa! Check our year's lineup: Our Trip Itinerary Day 1 - Thursday, February 7th: Arrival in Paradise Welcome to Zanzibar, welcome to paradise! Nungwi is a charming little village at the northern tip of the island that will serve as our home during our time in Zanzibar. Due to its wonderful location, there is superb diving and snorkelling possibilities, with a perfect sand beach. You'll have the option of relaxing this afternoon or joining us to Stone Town to enjoy the live preformances of Sauti za Busara! Day 2 - Friday, February 8th: Full Day Boat Cruise After breakfast at the hotel, we will enjoy a day out on the water! We'll be doing a full day boat cruise on a traditional Tanzanian dhow. We will have stop for a barbeque lunch with fresh seafood options, as well as vegetarian fare, on a beautifully deserted island. An amazing day of snorkeling and beaching in the best areas of Tanzania, with a crew and guides to lead us through the impossibly blue waters of the Indian Ocean! In the evening you have the option to join us in Stone Town for live music at Sauti za Buhara. Day 3 - Saturday, February 9th: Stone Town City Tour / Festival We will spend today exploring beautiful Stone Town. Known as Mji Mkongwe, Swahili for "old town"; it is the old part of Zanzibar City. Stone Town was a flourishing centre of the spice trade as well as the slave trade in the 19th century. It is a city of significant historical and artistic importance in East Africa. Its architecture, mostly dating back to the 19th century, reflects the diverse influences underlying Swahili, with a unique mixture of Arab, Persian, Indian and European elements. For this reason, the town was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. Interestingly, it is also the birth place of Freddy Mercury from Queen! We will have a guide taking us through the old town, its old winding alleyways and its fascinating history. For the remainder of the day we will have free time to expore on our own and after we'll have time to enjoy the music festival before heading back to Nungwi beach. Day 4 - Sunday, February 10th: Free Time & Departure Depending on your departure time we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight.
