Kenya at a Glance
A magical mix of amazing wildlife combined with a rich cultural heritage. If you're looking for a safari adventure - nowhere beats Kenya! The Masai Mara is one of the most renowned reserves on the continent: a beautiful savannah overwhelmed by the classic African animals; huge elephants, giraffes, dancing gazelles, proud lions and leopards up in the trees. The Masai people, historically the most feared tribe in Africa, welcome us to experience their beautiful lands and culture. At dusk you will be romanced by the star-studded night-sky, and your imagination stirred by the noises of the African night.
Day 1 - Wednesday, Nov. 30th - Arrival & Nairobi
Upon arrival everyone will be transferred to Heron Hotel in Nairobi. The first day is spent at leisure and everyone will be provided with a list of recommended things to see and explore - the giraffe sanctuary is always a favourite! In the evening we will have a group dinner at one of Africa's most famous restaurants, Carnivore. Although the main fare is meat (every kind you can imagine!), there are vegetarian options as well.
Day 2 - Thursday, Dec. 1st - Nairobi to Masai Mara
In the morning we will start our journey to the Masai Mara (approximately 5 hours) in our safari vans. En route, we will stop and take in the breathtaking Great Rift Valley; historically running from Madagascar to Syria. Following lunch upon our arrival, we will embark on our first safari and return to our camp for dinner and overnight, sharing pictures and the exciting moments of the day!
Day 3 - Friday, Dec. 2nd - Masai Mara
After breakfast, we will have a full day game driving, exploring the Masai Mara's amazingly high concentration of animals. There are over 450 species of animals and several Masai tribes that live within the area - many things to see, great photograph opportunities and an amazing look into a different culture! A picnic lunch will be served at the park, and we will end our day with a visit to one of the Masai villages located near our camp. We'll meet the locals and learn about their tribal traditions and very unique way of life on the Masai Mara.
Day 4 - Saturday, Dec. 3rd - Masai Mara to Nairobi & Departure
Everyone will be transferred to the airport in time for their return flights. Depending on the time of flight, you may have time for a final morning safari before heading to the airport.
