What we’re about

This conversation class focuses on the problems that Asian speakers have when learning English.

The teacher has 18 years experience teaching English in Japan and Canada. From his experience learning the Japanese language, Mark understands very well what kinds of problems Japanese people have learning English. All students are welcome, but this class was specifically designed with The language needs of Japanese students in mind. The class will begin with a lesson from Mark about some aspect that Canadians are often discussing. For example, the issue of gay marriage. Mark will describe the situation in several English speaking countries and explain the vocabulary of this topic. In addition, He will introduce the controversy and what Canadians usually talk about when this issue is raised. You will get to discuss the topic with the teacher and each other. First, during the discussion with the teacher, Mark will show you how to express your ideas correctly. Later, there will be time to practice discussing and debating with each other while Mark listens and helps you. Finally, you will have some notes about your particular mistakes and sentences that you can take home with you to practice.
