Meditation and Study

A number of our members are meditation teachers and will include some meditation in the service when they lead. We usually schedule one or two chanting / meditation services each quarter. We are experimenting with offering an optional 20 minute guided meditation before our Shabbat morning services.

We also meet once a month on a Shabbat afternoon to study texts (in English). Our subjects are often books with Chassidic or Kabbalistic content such as the Piacezna Rebbe's Conscious Community and Adin Steinsaltz's The Thirteen Petalled Rose. We recently studied Pirke Avot. The study is followed by a pot-luck Sudah Shlishi (third meal of Shabbat) and Havdalah.
