What we're about

Featured in Draft Magazine as one of the "beer and running clubs to join in 2017," this is a group for anyone interested in balancing fitness with the enjoyment of craft beer in the East Bay. Every Tuesday night a group of runners with varying experience meets at a local brewery or craft beer bar and runs between 3-5 miles returning for post-run beer. Past events have taken place in Oakland (The Trappist, Beer Revolution, Temescal Brewing), Berkeley (Fieldwork Brewing, Gilman Brewing, Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Room), San Leandro (Drake's Brewery, 21st Amendment), and many more locations throughout the East Bay.

Running routes are determined several days in advance and are posted in each meetup. We look forward to running and enjoying some beer with you!

Bierhaus Temescal Run

Bierhaus

Do you like wursts, schnitzels, and/or burgers along with beer? You will like this beer and food pub. Originating in Mountain View, Bierhaus relocated and reopened last November (2018) on our side of the bay in the Temescal neighborhood. Let's check out this new spot. We will meet at Bierhaus, and run ~4 miles (out and back) to the Mountain View Cemetery gates (aka the burial site of Mac Dre). Then, we will return for drinks and food at the beer pub. Wine is also available at this venue. The meeting time is at 7pm and we usually start the run at 7:10pm. Cemetery hours are subject to change, and so, if you plan on running through the cemetery, consider your pace. This route involves a substantial incline. While the route is mostly lit, we recommend bringing headlamps or flashlights especially if you go into the cemetery. We will hand out glow bands before the run to help increase your visibility. Like all runs, we will do our best to prevent people from getting lost (verbal directions are provided beforehand) and we are very flexible when it comes to pace and distance. All levels of running and drinking experience are welcome! ~4 miles : https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/2404315030 Bierhaus is located 1/2 mile from MacArthur BART station and has street parking. Street parking can be limited so please make an effort to arrive early if you are driving. Like anywhere in Oakland, do not leave personal items of ANY value in your car. Bierhaus is dog-friendly. The Trappist Craft Beer Lake Merritt Run

The Trappist

It's Taco Tuesday at The Trappist! Also, wear your East Bay Beer Runners shirt to save off your first beer. We will be meeting at the Trappist in Oakland and running a 5k or a ~5 miler (depending on your choice) then return for beers and tacos at the bar. The tacos are cash only. For the 5k, we will run 1.55 miles out to Lake Merritt and back. The 5 miler will take us around the lake and back. Although the meeting time is at 7pm, we typically don't start the actual run until 7:10pm Like all runs, we will do our best to prevent people from getting lost (verbal directions are often provided beforehand) and we are very flexible when it comes to pace and distance. Ghost Town Brewing Bay Bridge Sunday Run

Ghost Town Brewing

Welcome to our monthly weekend run! The 2019 Oakland Marathon is fast approaching. Are you running the full 26.2 and you're in need of a tapered long run -- especially on the Bay Bridge? How about one where it ends with drinks at one of Oakland's newest breweries that is near the marathon course? You're in luck -- this is the long morning run where we'll do just that. We will meet at Ghost Town Brewing in West Oakland and run on the Bay Bridge, and then return to the brewery for post-run drinks. The meeting time is at 9:45am, and we will start the run shortly thereafter. (Note: Daylight Saving begins on this day.) There will also be short and medium running distances (3.48 and 6.2 miles) available. However, Ghost Town opens at 12pm, and so, you will likely have some significant downtime if you opt for either reduced runs. For those distances, a later start run time would be recommended. We will be running through the majority of miles 9.5 to 22.5 on the 2019 Oakland Marathon course (especially beneficial if you're running the full marathon, or relay legs #2 and #3). For more info on the marathon, go to http://www.oaklandmarathon.com . A food truck is generally on-site at Ghost Town that day, plus outside food is allowed. The brewery is dog-friendly.
