The East Bay Documentary Filmmaking Support Group (analogous to a writing group) consists of a select group of East Bay documentary filmmakers that meet once or twice a month to review, discuss, and provide critical feedback of members' works-in-progress. The documentaries can be in any phase of the production (conceptualization, brainstorms, reviews of treatments, research, scripts, proposals, assemblies, rough cuts, fine cuts etc). The purpose of this group is to support, motivate, and see our projects progress and grow. The group has to be limited in size to insure each project receives enough time and attention.
NOTE: This is not at technical support group. This group is for skilled filmmakers who would like feedback on their 'passion' projects. Members should not rely on other members to 'teach' them the basics of filmmaking or to make their films for them. You have to fill out a questionnaire before being accepted and you may not be selected to join the group based on space limitations or because your experience level/expertise may not be what we are looking for. This is for serious practitioners and not for novices or people who are simply interested in the genre documentary or people who like to watch documentaries.
