The Seventh Novel Reading: Two-Fisted Jesus Tales, Book 1: The Book of the Job

It's been a long hiatus but we're back with another ripping tale for our seventh novel reading event, brought to you by regular contributor Jim Beach. If you'd like to attend, please RSVP and we'll make sure to send Jim's novel to you directly:

What if everything Christian conservatives believed came true? This is the story of what that world would be like - and of the second coming of Jesus Christ. The last time he was here, he was a dove of peace. That didn’t work out so well. So this time he’s an eagle; ready to kick ass and save souls. And he’s running out of souls. His mission: to save America and the world from the evil agenda of the AntiChrist, President Bomraka.

To defeat Bomraka, Jesus must evade capture while he recruits an elite cadre of New Disciples. He must also return Lily, a liberal woman he has come to love, to her grandfather - a divinely inspired weaponsmith of unparalleled genius. If Jesus and the New Disciples succeed, it will be the beginning of God's reign over America and the Earth. If they lose, Jesus knows that all of mankind will be tortured in Hell for all eternity. Will they fail? Will they succeed? Only God knows for sure - and he ain't telling anyone, not even Jesus.

I'm not doing well at finding the time to read the novel. All of my spare time has been spent fixing up my place before my gf moves in. I'm not sure how much I will get to read before the review. =(

Thanks for reading any. I'm grateful and appreciative of any feedback, however far you can get. : )

I'm sorry I can't make this one, but since I'm far from the target audience, perhaps it's better. I gave Jim my feedback on one segment, so he knows it's too polemic for my tastes. But I really look forward to hearing how it sells. Sometimes the best strategy is shock treatment. ;-)

Thanks to Kieran for setting this up! I've had so much great feedback already, from distributed segments. I'm looking very forward to the thoughts of as smart and diverse a group as this.
