Berkeley Critique Session

  • to
  • Berkeley Library - South Branch

1901 Russell Street at MLK, Berkeley, CA (map)

    37.856415 -122.270988

  • *** NOTE LOCATION AND TIME:  BPL South, Community Meeting Room, Saturday.  Walk inside and head immediately to your left.

Would you like to have your literary work critiqued by other writers in our friendly environment?

If your work or excerpt thereof is less than 7,000 words, and it meets our guidelines, email it to Becca ([masked]), who will forward it to the moderator.  The deadline for submissions is Sunday, two weeks before the meeting.  We will accept the first three submissions.

Submissions will be emailed to attending members after the submission deadline.

Please read our directions to the meeting room and rules of engagement.  The critique fee for submitting authors is five dollars per author, due at the beginning of the meeting, to defray MeetUp costs.  You need not be a submitting author to attend, listen, critique, and meet other writers.

If you have a work that is too long for our regular meetings (longer than 7,000 words), and would like it critiqued in its entirety, speak with our organizers at one of our meetings so we can arrange something for you.

Unfortunately, due to the recent date change, January 14 falls on a needed work day for me. But, I should be able to attend the next session on February 12.

Just FYI, Tony, the date may change for the February session. We can't actually schedule the dates until three months out in the Berkeley Library system, so February's is tentative as of right now.

Okay. I'll keep that in mind next time. Al messaged me about it earlier. Thanks for the heads up.
