Interiors in Art History Online Art Lecture

Online event

$11.25

Often times when viewing a portrait, we look at the sitter—the facial expression, who the person was, and what the artist was trying to convey about that person. But there is so much more that can be gleaned from a painting that adds great depth and meaning—fabrics, jewelry, furniture, lighting, and even the arrangement of objects in the background or in the sitter’s hand. Let's take a little walk through art history and view the interiors and decorative objects in a different light--not just as a backdrop to a portrait, but as important elements in their own right.

The fee is $10 (plus Meetup/Paypal fee of $1.25) for a 1-1/2 hour lecture per device. Can't make it live? Register and a replay will be sent to you upon request.

I will email you via Eventbrite with the Zoom link three hours in advance of the lecture. If you do not receive the Zoom link (after checking your spam box, too), email me at [masked]. Please email me at least 30 minutes before the lecture if you haven't received your link.

Ticket sales end 15 minutes before the lecture. Please order your tickets early!

I will open the room 15 minutes before the lecture. There will be a question and answer period at the end of the talk.

I look forward to having you join me!

Here Comes Trouble: Nymphs and Satyrs Online Art Lecture

Online event

$9.25

Ancient Greek and Roman folklore has given us the charming and often ribald stories of nymphs and satyrs. Nymphs were regarded as personifications of nature who dwell in groves, forests and caves, beside springs, streams and rivers and are usually depicted as beautiful maidens. Satyrs were characterized as lustful yet comical woodland creatures made of half man and half goat, and were known as lovers of wine, music, dancing, and women.

The fee is $8 (plus Meetup/Paypal fee of $1.25) for a one hour lecture per device. Can't make it live? Register and a replay will be sent to you upon request.
