This is a new group created for baby (births onwards - 3yo) and for parents who want to join us for a fun Chinese-language-led (Mandarin and Cantonese) playgroup meetup.
**** When you first join the group, will you please let me know the age of your baby, so we can group babies in similar age together. Thank you! ****
We welcome all languages speakers who are interested to immerse your babies and toddlers into a Chinese speaking environment,***Playgroup Meetup is free and will be held in Canary Wharf/ Limehouse area.***
At TEDxRainier, Patricia Kuhl shares astonishing findings about how babies learn one language over another -- by listening to the humans around them and "taking statistics" on the sounds they need to know. Clever lab experiments (and brain scans) show how 6-month-old babies use sophisticated reasoning to understand their world.
For raising bilingual(or even Trilingual) kids, experts suggested early exposure of language and consistency, so the earlier your child is exposed to another language the better. It boosts their language development, IQ and helps with brain development. :)
If you are non-chinese speakers and need help explaining teaching your child Mandarin or Cantonese, please feel free to ask any questions.
For activities, will include story time, soft play, Chinese songs sing-along, art and craft etc. Any other inputs and suggestions are welcomed!
