I enjoy walking but I get a bit fed up walking in the wonderful Sussex countryside on my own. I also need to do a lot of walking over the next year as I am doing a 100km walk to raise money to build a home for a school child I sponsor in Uganda so I would love some company whilst walking. Walks will usually be between 5 to 10 miles but there will be some longer ones when the weather improves. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join me, dogs as well. However if you are bringing your dog you should be aware that my dog takes time to be comfortable around other dogs (he loves people however). He stays on his lead and so long as other dogs leave him alone he will be fine.
A walk around the beautiful village of Shipley which was home to the author Hilaire Belloc in the first half of the 20th century. The walk passes near the Shipley Windmill which featured in the Jonathan Creek tv series.
This walk was suggested by and will be led by David. He suggests finishing at The Crown in Dial Post for post walk drinks.
IMPORTANT Please read
Please dress for the weather and make sure you have appropriate footwear. And don’t forget to bring some water with you.
Dogs are welcome but they will need to spend some of the walk on the lead as we go through a lot of farm land. I will be bringing my dog who isn't great with other dogs, he stays on his lead but it’s too hot to muzzle him at the moment so you will need to keep your dog away from him.
Everyone is responsible for their own safety on the walk and should follow the Countryside Code.
I am using these walks to prepare for the South Downs Challenge and to fund raise for a home for my sponsored daughter in Uganda so I am asking for donations - £1 minimum per walk per person would be great!
