This group serves freelance writers and writers who aim to become freelancers. This group is likely not a good choice for people seeking help writing novels or other long-form works. Instead, our focus is on producing marketable writing that is well-positioned to be sold to magazines, newspapers, and other outlets. We want to help people land gigs with companies who are hiring freelancers. We meet to exchange insight from our freelance work and mentor aspiring freelancers. Our gatherings include presentations and consultations about both the craft and business sides of freelance writing to strengthen our abilities to produce sellable work, and we ask members to consider the presentations they might give, or arrange, that serve this goal.
We extend our conversations, network, and share resources in a Facebook group. This platform is an important part of our group and exchanges. Search on Facebook for the East Tennessee Freelance Writers and join our community.
We're delighted that James Broyles, co-coordinator of the Meetup group WordPress Knoxville, will be joining us for a program that's great for blogging and also writer's block. The tactics James will share include using word jumbles and keywords to create fresh language and perspectives for your writing.
