Mindful Skywatching

Needs a location

Join DCNR volunteer Monica as the sun sets to do mindful sky watching. You will be guided through a short, guided meditation to encourage relaxation, openness and peaceful sky watching. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring with you a blanket or a zero-gravity chair, flashlight, water and/or a snack with you. We will conclude the event around 11 pm.

Storytime for Preschoolers

Needs a location

Join the park naturalist and Friend's of Beltzville volunteers for storytime and crafts for preschoolers, every other Wednesday, starting May 18th! We will read a story, and make a simple craft afterwards. Ages 3-5.

We will be meeting at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) for this program.

Night Sky Tour: Dark Sky Night

Needs a location

Join park educator and Astronomy enthusiast/Conservation Volunteer, for an exciting evening exploring the wonders of the heavens. This program will feature a dark sky night. The moon will not be visible, which will allow us to see much fainter stars and constellations, as well as the Andromeda Galaxy. This program will begin as an informative discussion followed by a hands-on exploration of the wonders and mysteries of the evening skies. Feel free to bring your own equipment. This event is free.

While you may bring your own equipment and observe on your own in the designated area, all visitors should arrive before dark and check in at the Environmental Interpretive Center (E.I.C.). Programs begin at the E.I.C. The park asks that visitors to the Night Sky programs please leave their pets at home. Dim lighting, large crowds and sensitive equipment do not create a pet-friendly environment.

***PLEASE NOTE!!! All stargazing programs will be canceled and rescheduled in the event of rain or severe thunderstorms. If the sky is overcast or mostly cloudy, the program will be canceled and rescheduled. If the sky is clear or partly cloudy, the program is a GO! A decision to cancel will be made no later than 3pm the day of the program. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL, MEETUP, OR THE DCNR CALENDAR OF EVENTS PAGE FOR A NOTIFICATION OF CANCELLATION!!!

***Pre-registration is required to attend this program and spaces are limited. MINORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. Please register by clicking the link below, not on Meetup:
