Today's Meetup

From: Sallie G.

Hi, everyone.

Just wanted to provide a few more details for today's meetup.

Ben Metcalfe and Austin Gunter from WP Engine will be joining us (and bringing pizza, soda, and beer). Our friends at ZippyKid, Page.ly, and Synthesis all had schedule conflicts, but Anca will talk a bit about working with ZippyKid and I'll talk a bit about working with Page.ly (the Meetup's long-time sponsor).

By the end of the meeting you'll know whether managed hosting is for you or for your clients and how to market it to them when you know it's the right thing but they aren't sure about it. And you can ask your questions about "But why can't we do X on managed hosting accounts?" too, though those rules do vary a little from provider to provider.

As always, we will start at 1 PM with introductions, then move to an open Q & A period where you can ask any question you have about WordPress (or mention a solution you discovered to a problem you were having). We'll start the main presentation somewhere between 1:30 and 2:00 PM. We wrap up at 3 PM. Depending on whether another group needs the space, we can hang out at Tech Liminal or move on to a nearby restaurant for further networking.

Bring some business cards if you are a designer, developer, or other service provider: there are often people in this group who are looking for help with WordPress. (If you are looking for help with WordPress, do say so. Lots of qualified people here.)

Remember that Tech Liminal has MOVED. The entrance is on Clay Street @ 12th. Parking downtown can be tricky, so if you are near a BART station, you might prefer to take BART. If driving is your only option, give yourself an extra 10 minutes to find parking. (Street parking is free on Sundays but lot parking costs $$.)

See you at 1 PM!

Sallie
