The mission of our Toastmasters' club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth. Our club’s focus will be defining and debating topics relating to the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, civilian use of firearms, and related safety issues. The Torchlighters Toastmasters Club #2942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma helps build leaders, strengthen communication skills, hone listening skills and enhance self-confidence. Torchlighters is an open, public club. We are pleased to welcome members from all walks of life. We have no dress code ... most members are arriving straight from work. Each 60-minute meeting is divided into three parts: Prepared Speeches (projects that members have practiced in advance); Impromptu Speeches (extemporaneous speaking on virtually any topic, this is called Table Topics); and Evaluations (each area of the meeting, including prepared speeches, are provided verbal feedback). We will provide a printed agenda for each meeting. Bring a pen or pencil. We meet every Monday (except Holidays) from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at Asbury United Methodist Church (6767 S. Mingo Road, Tulsa, Ok, 74133). Please enter through the South Entrance and follow the Toastmasters signs to our second floor meeting room. We meet in room 2820. Guests are always welcome!
