Speaker: Ray Pfortner - Landscape Photographer
Ray Pfortner has agreed to speak to the Eastside Camera Club. Please check out his website: FOCUS ON COMPOSITION Ray Pfortner The difference between a good photograph and a truly memorable, compelling one is not the camera or lens nor the exposure or focus. It is always the composition - how the photograph is designed, how the elements are arranged within the frame. And the responsibility for the design rests squarely on the photographer. Explore the principles of great composition and when to apply them. but also when not to. Show 3 of your own photographs for feedback, ones you want to brag about or ones you want to learn how to design for more impact. Bring 3 photographs on a flash drive

What we're about

Welcome to the Eastside Camera Club. We are an amateur photographer’s club (originally founded in 1952), dedicated to improving our skills, and sharing our enthusiasm, knowledge and improving our shooting, post-processing and printing skills. We meet twice a month at various King County Libraries, (Christmas Party Meeting in December). One meeting of each month is always an education night where we have a speaker or sometimes one of our members will select a subject that they are familiar with to share with the group. The second meeting of the month is our print/digital night where each member can bring prints and/or digital images. The prints and digital images are reviewed and critiqued at the meeting. There will be nominal dues, paid annually. These dues pay for potential speakers plus membership to the Northwest Council of Camera Clubs (NWCCC). Any interested club member, listed as Assistant Organizers, can also plan and coordinate field trips during the year. If you live on the Eastside and you are looking for an active camera club, please come and share your enthusiasm for photography!
