Hike Pine Valley Ranch
Join me for an easy but scenic hike. We’re going to hit Pine Valley Ranch for a 3 to 4 mile loop. There is a bit of uphill at the start but it levels out. This is an “at your own pace” hike. I'm a moderate hiker so feel free to hike at a speed comfortable to you. This hike takes me about an hour at a moderate pace. There are shorter options available and a few options to extend this hike. Bikers and horses are also welcome on some of these trails. There is a lake for fishing and plenty of great spots for a picnic lunch. Jeff Co write-up: Picnic by rippling waters, hear the call of an osprey , take in the light of dawn as it illuminates towering cliffs. Pine Valley Ranch Park offers treasures of yesteryear and inspires memories that last a lifetime. Pine Valley Ranch offers 1.3 miles of quiet, easy-to-moderate trails that are hiker-only. Nearly three miles of multi-use trails are open to all. Buck Gulch Trail allows access to the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area in Pike National Forest . The gem of the valley is Pine Lake. Skaters and anglers enjoy the ice when they're not warming by the hearth in a lakeside hut. Anglers can enjoy pier fishing in warmer months. Link: We'll start hiking promptly at 8:10 am. Be sure to update your RSVP if you can't make it. Late cancels keep other people from joining the hike. What to bring: Bring water. Hiking poles/sticks are nice if you use them. Directions: 30400 Crystal Lake Rd., Pine From U.S. Highway 285, turn south on Pine Valley Road (County Road 126) to Crystal Lake Road. Turn right one mile into the park. Well behaved, leashed furry kids are welcome. Give me a shout if you have questions: Christine[masked]

What we're about

This group is for people who enjoy or want to explore hiking but are intimidated by some other great hiking groups who do fast-paced, long hikes. We will try to host at least 1 hike a month. Easy hikes will be no more than 3 miles round trip and Moderate hikes will be 5-6. We will start most hikes between 7 and 9am and hope to be back in Denver by noon-1pm so these hikes will not take your entire day. Hikes will primarily be on Saturday and Sunday since most of the Coordinators are volunteers and also work full-time jobs. We are open to hosting "other" events such as bike rides (mountain and road), climbing, kayaking, etc. If you have something you want to try, let me know so I can try to get something on the calendar.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Denise at (314) 393-6676.
