135 Iroquois Dr. , Boulder, CO
Let's sing! Let's play percussions & clap and sing harmonies and move and groove and have a great time!
When? figuring it out. Leave a comment and let me know what eve works best for you! I'll tally up preferences and pick a night to meet. Please comment and let me know what evenings work for you! I'm considering Mon-Thurs. I'd like to start right away.
Who? Anyone. Adults preferred for a relaxed vibe. No qualifications, no expectations, no auditions. Only requests are to be willing to be yourself, let go, contribute, challenge yourself, encourage others, be silly or open to it, and be positively critical.
What? Get together & learn a couple simple songs & fun group stuff. And focus on a full tune arranged w/ harmonies & individual parts- see below for suggestions for the main song. This will be a casual gathering with socializing, laughing, eating and drinking and led by Michele (vocal coach & band leader) who will teach parts, harmonies, assign percussions, and offer tips & techniques for the voice, percussion, music theory and performance.
Cost? $10/each first session to try it out, then $15/practice if you wanna join.
What else? We will have a party on Feb 7th to celebrate the Vocal Performance Class students, who will get on stage with a professional band & perform some great tunes (pop, folk, rock, latin, gospel, and more). The party's at the Broker Inn on Friday night (7pm) where there's a bar, stage, dance floor, pool tables, etc. The students will offer homemade food & it's a pot luck for anyone who wants to offer food. As always, we'll have a raffle. $10 suggested donation for the party helps to cover cost of the musicians and the space.
Commitment? Check it out for a night ($10) then commit to learn the tunes for the party (Feb 7). Each practice til then is $15. Then in March I'll schedule another session w/ a set start date and culminating w another party, so you can decide if you're able to join.
SONGS AND LINKS- PLEASE COMMENT w/YOUR PREFERENCES: See below. In addition, I have tons of material & cool tunes. I'll pick a couple of simple songs that are easy to learn but have interesting harmonies, counter melodies, rhythms or something. We'll also focus on one arranged song. Maybe two, depending on the groups's overall ability & level. Please let comment and let me know your thoughts.
