5-week Introduction to Yoga Course

What does "namaste" mean? How on earth do I deepen my breath and "flow with my breath", or ground my back heel down in Warrior A? Wait, what is Warrior A? And how does the sun salutation sequence go again? 

Yoga, whilst simple in theory and sweet in its natural flow, has many key foundational aspects and seeds that must be planted, learned and understood, then assimilated and rooted down into our practice as second nature, for the deep benefits of this total mind-body practice to blossom.

This 5-week Introduction to Yoga course is suitable for complete beginners, and those looking to deepen their understanding of yoga in all its aspects and strenghten the foundations of their practice. 

It will cover all foundational aspects of yoga, including key asanas (postures), breath and breath-based movement, pranyama (breathing exercises), the philosophy of yoga and how it appears in our physical practice, meditation and relaxation. As well as decoding some of the mystifying sanskrit terms used frequently through classes like "drishti", "prana", "savasana" and "namaste".

The course runs for 5 weeks on Thursdays from 7.45 - 9pm at New Town Therapy on Dundas St. It costs £48 for 5 weeks, beginning Thursday 3rd November until Thursday 1st December.

It is limited to 10 students to allow each student to fully explore their practice with the attention of the teacher, and to allow a smaller group to share space in planting the seeds of their practice.

Spaces are limited, booking in advance is essential.

If you are unable to make one of the 5 pre-arranged Thursdays, you can use that class to swap in for one of the other weekly drop-in classes that I run each week.
