Been going to the gala launch for over 15 years. Last year it was a bit ropey, most years it is really good. The best years for me was when Adam Hills and Jason Byrnes hosted it.
The idea is to showcase to the press the best acts at Assembly in 2019. Its a secret who hosts the show until the night.
I queue in the courtyard if I can from 6.30 pm. Official start time is 8pm. Doors usually opened 7.40pm.
Two hundred free tickets for the press, the rest is on public sale. They manage the queue differently each year. You might be outside or inside, it a bit of everybody for themselves.
Best is you attend a regular Mojo event prior to coming to a fringe show, as you have to be able to find us. It takes ssssoooo much longer getting throught town when the fringe is on, leave yourself plenty of time.
