... so why not embrace our winter?
I love cross country skiing away from machine-set tracks and I enjoy introducing folks to it. I'm willing to lead local trips within a one-hour radius of Edmonton. Last night, I took a group of nine people on a two-hour moonlight ski trip near Elk Island park. Fantastico!

I just wanted to add that Edmonton's big cross country ski epic -- the Birkiebeiner -- is slated for Saturday Feb 10. Various distances up to 55 km. New this year is an event requiring the use of all-wood skiis (hardly ever made any more because they're too labor-intensive). I'm entering with my old (almost 35 years old) Bonna 2400s which are still excellent, very forgiving skiis. For more on such skiis see:
