The Edmonton Hiking/Walking Meetup Group Message Board › St. Albert River Lot 56 - 9 KM Hike/Ski

St. Albert River Lot 56 - 9 KM Hike/Ski

A former member
This is a great opportunity to start walking/hiking in 2008. As this is essentially an urban event, there are options for either the hiker, skier or walker.

For the skier, St. Al has 70 KM of trails. Some are in the River Lot with daring-do hills or more placid flat stretches - such as along the Sturgeon River.

For us non-skiers, we will have a choice. Option one is to head into the River Lot or option two to walk along the asphalt trails in St. Albert. We will take a straw poll at the beginning as see which way we go [or if we split into two groups, if necessary].

Weather in early February is always a question - but given that we are not leaving the larger metro-Edmonton area, it is all good.

Please read this link about equipment and preparation.

Cheers,
