The ATLAS Speaker Series presents:
Computing with Arts and Crafts – How people are learning to love
technology by playing, building & sketching with very friendly electronics

Presented by Leah Buechley, a developer of the LilyPad Arduino microcontroller toolkit,
an associate professor at MIT and director of its High-Low Tech Media Lab. She received
her master’s and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from CU.

4:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10
ATLAS 100, Cofrin Auditorium, ground floor
Free and open to the public.
Audiences are advised to arrive 10 minutes early.
Seating is limited and first-come, first-served.

Playing with arts, crafts and arduinos (friendly microcontrollers)
Leah Buechley will discuss her work at MIT developing accessible technologies that encourage people of all ages to sketch, design, paint and sew while incorporating electronic technologies that include the Lilypad Arduino, a flexible, easy-to-use microcontroller.

As examples, she will show inventive, creative student projects that blend computing with traditional arts and crafts, textiles, paper, paint and wood.
