Hi all,

I'm happy to announce our next meetup - Elasticsearch at BUX.

BUX is a mobile only stock trading app that aims to make it really easy to play the stockmarkets. Everybody starts with virtual money (funBUX) and it is possible to upgrade to a real money (seriousBUX) account. The app also has an extensive social layer that allows users to compete and interact with each other. BUX is currently available in the Netherlands, the UK and Germany and has signed up[masked] users in 1 year since it launched in September 2014.

Joost van de Wijgerd, CTO of BUX, will be presenting. Here's a short abstract of his talk:

Using ElasticSearch as the Event Store in a Reactive Architecture

In this presentation I will talk about the (central) role of ElasticSearch in the Reactive (Event-Driven) architecture that we use at BUX. I will describe the overall architecture and the Event Store part in particular (including code samples). Also I will show you the three main use cases where we apply ElasticSearch and discuss our deployment structure and some lessons learned in the past 2 years.

About the speaker Joost has been active in the software industry for over 15 years in various technical roles. Most notably he was one of the founders of JTeam (now Trifork) and SpringSource and Chief Architect at eBuddy. Since 2014 he is the CTO of BUX, the mobile stock trading app.

We start at 18:30 with pizza and drinks. Talk starts around 19:00.

See you all there,
