"Make America Moral Again" Presented by Don Wilkin, Ph.D.
“No culture in history has survived the destruction of its soils,” Don Wilkin, Ph.D. tells us. Don is Associate Professor Emeritus of Natural Resources and Evolutionary Human Ecology from the University of Arizona, Tucson. He studies the human species as he would any other animal species, with particular emphasis on what it will take to make us sustainable, which we definitely aren't being right now. Regenerative Agriculture, also known as carbon farming, is one answer in which we can all take part, even if we don't want to play in the dirt. Come hear Don tell us how. It's all about networking and building community. We hope to see you at our next Elgin Green Groups meeting for this engaging conversation. My story, your stories, "It's not easy being green", as Kermit the Frog said! Let's share stories! We care about each other and the world we live in. We want to form a Caring Green Community to work towards 100% renewable energy as the answer to climate change and work for environmental justice at the same time! As Rev. Terry Gallagher says we care about the air, water, and earth we share with our kids, grandkids, and people on the other side of the world. This includes the third world poor who are suffering now from climate change drought, floods, fires and storms! As member Robin Migalla said quoting Kermit the Frog: "It's not easy Being Green!" But together we can do lots! We share local green news. We are working with the Elgin Sustainability Commission to help share ideas on solutions to climate change and how to work towards 100% renewable energy for the Fox Valley area. We represent several larger organizations, such as 350.org, Sierra Club, Traditional Nutrition, Wild Ones, Citizen's Climate Lobby, and SOIL, others. EGG350.org is a local group of the international 350.organization. We have monthly supportive and informational meetings. Go Green!

What we're about

Explore and discuss climate change solutions, and environmental and sustainability issues with recycling, water conservation, renewable energy, and local foods. We will be listing green, sustainable, and environmental events and activities that are taking place in the North Fox River Valley and the general region. If you are part of an organization that is producing an event, or just know of one that you feel others will be interested in knowing about, please post a meetup for it. It is easy to do, by just clicking on "Schedule A New Meetup" If you have any question just ask. Laren
