Come out and join us for the film “Touch of Pink” this Thursday, March 29, 2019. The purpose and goal of this Meetup group is to actually meet, share snacks, and watch a meaningful movie from the LGBTIQIS++ “Queer” cinema tradition.
From Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touch_of_Pink
"Touch of Pink is a 2004 Canadian-British gay-themed romantic comedyfilm written and directed by Ian Iqbal Rashid and starring Jimi Mistry and Kyle MacLachlan. The film takes its title from the Cary Grant film That Touch of Mink.
Alim is a young gay man. Born in Kenya and raised in Toronto, he moved to London to get away from his conservative upbringing. He faces the hardships of coming out to his widowed mother Nuru, as well as hardships in his relationship with his boyfriend Giles. Alim has an imaginary friend (or maybe a guardian angel or ghost friend, depending on how literally or symbolically one takes the film) who is supposedly Cary Grant, who gives Alim advice when he is in trouble. Unfortunately, the advice often seems to make more trouble."
As of this writing we now have 259 “members” to this Meetup group!!!! Come out , come out, wherever you are…… and bring some snacks and / or beverages to share if you would like to. There is no charge for this event, no money is exchanged. Donations to our host, Ray Of Hope Church are always welcomed. Please do RSVP below so others who may be visiting the group actually know people attend these events. We have a little motto: “Let’s put some feet to the street and actually meet.” This is what the “meetup” concept is all about. We hope to see you there.
Hosted by Ray Of Hope Church, the only church in Central NY started and consistently supported by the GLBTQIS++ Community for 36 years. www.rayofhopechurch.com
