Ever dreamt of being a confident public speaker? Don't believe you can do it? Elvet Speakers is here to prove you can. We are one of 15,900 Toastmasters International clubs worldwide, dedicated to helping members to improve their communication skills for personal and professional development. We meet every second and fourth Monday of the month at (usually) County Hall in Durham, between 6.45 and 8.30pm. Guests are welcome to attend for free, and membership is cheap - only £7 per month - and provides access to the proven Toastmasters educational programme, as well as the opportunity to speak regularly in front of an audience and get constructive feedback, advice and mentoring from fellow members. You don't have to be rich, clever, or good looking to be part of Elvet Speakers, and you don't need to be a good speaker. All we ask from members is the willingness to get up on their hind legs and give it a try. For more details, visit our club websites at www.elvetspeakers.co.uk and http://toastmasterclub.org/clubdata.php?c=324

Membership of Elvet Speakers is independent of membership of this Meetup group. Neither is required to attend a club meeting as a guest, but to participate in the Toastmasters educational programme you will have to join as a club member.  Our Meetup group is limited to 50 members, which means we have to delete the oldest members to allow new ones in, but anyone who attends a meeting will be registered on our online management app and continue to receive meeting reminders.
