Are you using flexbox? Great, CSS Grids helps fill in some gaps where flexbox doesn’t flex just right. Lets take a quick dive into CSS Grids and their declarative nature. Then we will walk through some examples of how you can take advantage of CSS Grids in Ember. How to Start Using ES2015 Classes in Ember with Decorators by Ten Bitcomb - Ember has technically supported ES2015 classes for a long time, but things got complicated with existing framework APIs and conventions. Typescript solved those problems with decorators, and decorators are working their way into ECMAScript. It's time to start using them to write better code in Ember today. Riot Games

Agenda: 7:00 to 7:30 pm - Food, Drinks, Networking 7:30 to 9:00 pm - Presentations and Discussions 30,099 Problems and Displaying Them Ain't One by Dana Franklin I once worked on an Ember project where a customer created over 30,000 records. Long story short: to support various functionality in the app, all 30,000 records had to be fetched up front in the route's model hook. Needless to say, the customer was pretty upset about waiting for 30,000 records to load from the server each time they visited the app. Fetching all that data took at least 30 seconds. That's 30 seconds of staring at a loading indicator before getting anything useful or interactive to work with. That's 30,000 records to design for in the UI. And that's hundreds of API requests to the server without any evidence the customer intends to consume any of the results. Let's look at how to address fetching and showing finite, large data sets while keeping your apps snappy and your customers happy. That’s what I did. Come learn the technical differences between the two frameworks, why the creation of Glimmer is good for Ember, and how we’re using Glimmer to land Ember features like module unification. Matthew is an Ember.js Core Team member and has been championing the module unification effort.
