What we're about

It is hard to find a good RPG group that fits your style, has room for new players, or sometimes even exists, period, regardless of if it is a fit for you. But the fact is there are groups meeting and playing games all the time.

The problem: very few of them discuss this online, and even fewer know of or have a good channel to do this. Well, it's going to take somebody to organize a group or a channel, moderate it, keep its calendar up to date, etc., and while I don't want to be that person, necessarily, if it helps the problem I've decided that I'll do the work for now.

This group can be a place to discuss pen and paper RPG topics, coordinate a calendar of events, and in general, get people in touch with other pen and paper rolepay gamers in the area. While this group focuses on the Eugene/Springfield, OR area, I hope it can help this situation for local residents. I also don't see why it can't expand to other areas longer term or act as a model for how to do this in other geographic locations.

The Curious Case of the Limerence [Invisible Sun]

Robert's House

***THIS HAS BEEN ON HOLD DUE TO THE COVID-19 SITUATION SINCE MARCH 2020*** This is a placeholder event for the regularly meeting in-progress Invisible Sun campaign "The Curious Case of the Limerence". The campaign is a game of secrets set in the city of Satyrine under the Indigo Sun. In this most peculiar city in the neighborhood of Fartown, our characters find themselves unable to ditch this most unsettling of feelings that a place that should exist does not, and that this place needs finding, despite the fact that nobody is looking for it. These and other secrets will need unveiling before this insatiable obsession can be let go. EDIT: We are far past this original adventure hook, but it still provides a nice entry to what Invisible Sun is like... To try and wrap up Invisible Sun in a single sentence: this game is very cerebral, surreal, and has a magical uncertainty about it, with solutions (and problems) often coming not from combat, but from out of the box thinking. As of now we have two players and are looking to add 1-3 more, so if you are interesting in this game or Invisible Sun reach out the host. This meetup event primarily helps coordinate the schedule for regular attendees, and let's others know such a game is going. Here is some info about me as a GM and the type of game this will be: https://www.meetup.com/Emerald-City-Pen-Paper-RPG-Alliance/messages/boards/thread/51601088#[masked]
