What we're about

After I had my son it was really challenging for me to find the time, energy and balance to take care of myself let alone build and maintain friendships especially with other busy and stressed out moms! So I created this group as a way to fulfill all those needs and connect with other moms in similar circumstances.

The vision I have for this group is a circle of women supporting and encouraging each other in their health and fitness goals while modeling healthy lifestyles and positive community for our kids.

The intention is to make working out fun and exciting and to create a community of support and encouragement to keep you motivated to reach your individual goals, bring you balance and help you be the best version of you for you and your family.

Because I know how hard it is to find sitters, etc. all of our Meetups are kid-friendly. I also think it is important to include our kids in our activities because I believe its important that we model a healthy, active lifestyle for our kids so they can build those habits early on.

I would love for you to be an active part of this Meetup and community. Suggestions and recommendations for Meetups are always welcome! I look forward to meeting you and your kiddos soon!

Hike in the Diablo Foothills

Needs a location

This centrally located meetup is a great ritual to end and start the week and month! Our group hikes are casually paced with an emphasis on time to connect and build relationships with other like-minded moms while the kids play, explore nature and burn off some energy. The trails will vary, but all of them have plenty of flat space and a few small to medium hills - nothing too daunting. Hikes typically last between 45-minutes to an hour, depending on how the kids are doing. The great thing about being with other moms is if your kid is having "one of those days" it's cool - just duck out early (we've all been there - trust me that kid is usually mine!). The key is to just out in nature and have a good time. That being said moms and kids of all ages and hiking levels welcome. Be sure to wear comfortable athletic shoes, sun protection and bring snacks, water and an extra change of clothes for the kids, just in case! The trails are doable with a jog stroller, but can be tough to manage with a traditional stroller. If you have a really little one its suggested that you bring a moby or other type of carrier if you don't have a jog stroller. Meet at the entrance to the trail head by the sign with the map. When you get there, please announce yourself here in the comments and let us know what you're wearing - especially if you don't have a clear, recent or accurate picture of yourself on your Meetup profile. We don't want to miss anyone! The hike will start promptly at 9:15am and cell phone service beyond the trailhead can be intermittent so this piece is critical to ensuring you get to join us! ** Please note: As a courtesy to those of us who take the time out of their schedules to plan, schedule and attend these meetups - if you can no longer attend please change your RSVP.

Fall Into Fitness

Needs a location

Join us for a fun, motivating and supportive 30 Days as we get you moving, eating right and reaching your goals. Fall can often be a time for renewal, re-establishing or starting new and healthy routines that may have fallen by the wayside during summer. With the kids back in school, structure and organization can often return to our routines and days, allowing us the time to refocus and recommit to our goals. If you’re sick and tired of starting over, falling short on your goals or ready to take your health and fitness to the next level this is your opportunity. This challenge group provides you the complete solution to help you achieve your goals and live a healthy, fulfilling life. Here's how this will work, what's included and a little bit more about the group. All workouts are done in the comfort of your own home on your own time. And you'll have a personal coach walking you through every step of the program on a daily basis! You will receive: - A complete 30 day home workout program that is proven to work and customized for your preferences and goals, eliminating the need for childcare (and you’ll finish most workouts in the time it would take you to drive to the gym and find parking!) - Custom meal plan with shopping lists designed to take the guess work out of what to eat and when - Healthy, family friendly recipes so you’re not making multiple meals - Access to a private, lifetime support group - Weekly live, virtual check ins and Q & A - Daily accountability and follow up - Peace of mind that you’re getting fit and losing weight in a healthy, sustainable way and not by some “quick fix” gimmick that could damage your health in the long run About me: Hi! I'm Megan. I've had a lifelong passion for nutrition and self-discovery. I taught yoga and prenatal yoga for several years and ran a highly successful online media company that focused on self-empowerment. However, after having my son in 2012 I was left feeling burnt out, overwhelmed and out of control add lack of of sleep and stress eating and I started to pack on the pounds. I was making excuses to sit on the park bench or lay on the couch while he begged me to play with him. I knew he deserved more and it motivated me to change. I started working out and as a result have completely changed myself and rebuilt my life. Today, I'm happy to say I am the active, engaged mom I wanted to be for my son, but I am also stronger, more confident and feel more empowered than I ever have. Along the way I've had several people join me on the journey, so I decided to open a group where we can all gather and share the successes and struggles together. Its a place of support, authenticity, hope, empowerment and community. I'd love to have you join us and help support you on the path to reaching your goals!
