Kirtan & Presentation on the Women of Bhakti Tour & Sacred Places in India

Saturday November 23rd at Enchant we will be having a special presentation given by Goldean Lowe who is freshly back from pilgrimage in India. The presentation will be on the Women of Bhakti Tour & Sacred Places in India, featuring temples and projects in the Holy Dhamas: Jagannatha Puri, Mayapur, Vrindavan, as well as projects developed by His Holiness Radhanath Swami including the Bhaktivedanta Hospital and the innovative Govardhan Eco Village near Mumbai.

Goldean Lowe is an aspiring practitioner of Bhakti yoga and is a registered Clinical Counsellor and Behaviour Analyst currently managing and clinically supervising a program for families with children with developmental disabilities in the Lower Mainland. Her interests and background include meditation, asana yoga, professional dance and music performance, theatre improv, community building and sustainability projects. Her most recent inspiration and source of joy has been studying Vedic literature and learning the path of Bhakti. Goldean also has an MA in Counselling Psychology.

We are delighted to have Goldean with us and we hope you will join us for the evening!

EnChant is a casual gathering of open-minded souls for call and response chanting, known as kirtan.

The practice of kirtan/mantra meditation is a process of bhakti (devotional) yoga. The practice has a powerful heart-opening effect which is best understood through direct experience.

Traditional instruments used in the kirtan are harmonium, mrdanga(drum), and kartals(hand cymbals).

There will be an explanation of the mantras we chant, as well as teachings from Bhagavad-gita, the ancient manual of the soul. We learn about such topics as the soul, consciousness, karma, reincarnation, past lives, and meditation.

Come, relax, and unwind in a friendly atmosphere. Listen/observe, or sing your heart out! Questions, personal realizations, and discussion about the application of spiritual practice are welcome.

Yummy vegetarian snacks are served at the end of the evening!

This is a non-profit event; all donations are used for future EnChant events. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Amazing books on spirituality are available.  Bring a little extra cash in case something catches your eye!
