Everyone wants to go an find out what it means to be an Australian lol, simply put (follow this advice): -Never ever brag about yourself or you´ll be labelled with "tall poppy syndrome". -Always be willing to have a yarn and have ya mates back, -Always remember when it´s your shout, -Never ever support COLLINGWOOD (hahaha), -Always put off today what you can do tomorrow, as there is probably a great set rolling in and you never want to miss out on that.-Always have a few in the fridge for who ever drops in,-Don´t leave the lid off the Vegi-mite as that´s a waste,-Always be relaxed and have fun, life is always more important than money is

Did you know you can get Vegimite in Germany!? I love it :-)
1 · September 26, 2013
Hi silke, Brett is my first name :) Freo dockers lol, well as with the rest of W.A. they're 3 hours behind and need to catch up ;) not only can you get vegimite here, you can get milo, tim tams, meat pies, dim sims, bundy rum and much more. Thank god for the aussie shops in germany hahaha

Someone told me you can buy Vegemite here http://www.tearoom.br... if you're prepared make the hike over there... I keep hearing rumors of places closer to town, but they are unconfirmed at this stage.

Hi Hugh, Brett and Silke, I've been to the British Tearoom shop in Bergedorf, don't think they have Vegemite but they do have Marmite. Have also seen Marmite at Edeka and Marktkauf, but am not sure if it is always stocked. There is also "The English Book Shop" (Stressemannstr. 197 HH), they have Marmite. Anyway, if you like them, you will probably like "ALNATURA würziger Brotaufstrich Hefe-Extrakt", which you can get at Budni in 125g jars. I actually prefer the taste to Vegemite and Marmite. If you are REALLY desperate, you can order Vegemite from this shop. http://www.australias... There used to be an Australia Shop near Lundungbrücken a few years ago but they must have gone broke......Geoff

Here here!!! love it!! aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi!! :)
0 · October 19, 2013
There are two Marmites - the UK/most-of-the world version and the NZ/Aussie version. Check out the US Marmite virgins video and the 'Marmite lover' comments here.... http://www.gotorio.de...
You can't count vegimite as Marmite, as Marmite is the rubbish English version to the great stuff from Oz. No comparison...
0 · October 20, 2013
The OZ Marmite version is made in NZ and is NOT the same as the brownish UK one available here. Vegimite is no longer Australian-owned (Kraft Foods, US), that has led some true-blue Aussies to boycott it and switch to AussieMite or Dick Smith's OZEMITE (which are supposed to taste the same, though I haven't tried 'em.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7y6iE0aB5s BTW If you like taking the piss out of Kiwis, have a look at www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTUcf7rLPRU

I can't believe I missed it!!! Was under the impression that it's next weekend :((((
I'd love to go, but cant , have fun :)
Some useful advice for first meetup party?;)
Yeah, have fun and be relaxed lol
There is a classic book to read, titled "Let Stork Strine" (translation: 'lets talk Australian'). Totally apropos (French for Vegemite), is this except: "Maz dryza dead dingo's donga." (Translation: "I am as dry as a dead dingo's donger", i.e. I'm rather thirsty)
Probably only used in W.A or the N.T lol doubtful for anywhere else in the land..my fav is He´s three beers short of a six pack (means he´s nuts)
Stuck working a workshop in Vienna sorry guys. Next time for sure.
Is this an Aussie inspired hamburg catchup!! awesome!!! sounds great!!

What does this party have to do with an Australian Shepherd (= Aussie) ?
0 · August 23, 2013
Aussie is an shortened word for what we call ourselves in and around the world, it´s easier to say than Australian all the time :) as for the Australian Shepherd it really has nothing to do with it, especially since the Australian Shepherd comes from Canada. The real Australian dog is the Blue Heeler.
