Meetup details changed: Chat about Blended Learning and other opportunities for ELT teachers

From: Sean L.
Sent on: Thursday, February 16, 2012 12:03 PM

Change of plan - I suggest that we get together to discuss (among other things) Blended Learning platforms, and find out how they can help us to:

1) offer an excellent product to our clients, at a great-value price

2) cut down enormously on course-writing and homework marking

3) create tailor-made courses to keep us ahead of the competition from multinational "one-size-fits-all" language suppliers.

I’m really hoping for a good turn-out so that we can get chatting about all of the issues facing ELT in Paris today, and in particular so that we can learn how to take advantage of this exciting development in this noble profession that we exercise.

I'm happy to animate the discussion and to show you what I've learned about the various options on offer.

The ZIG-ZAG café is a lovely spot - just about 100 yards north of the Panthéon - has well-priced drinks and snacky meals which start from about 7 Euros.

Turn up at whatever time you can - I'll be there from 6pm and I'll start my little presentation at around 7pm.

Thanks again to everyone who pitched up at Expolangues earlier this month - lots of free champagne courtesy of the CUP & Attica and some interesting products and people to see. Those who stayed to the death were also rewarded with dinner kindly paid for by publishing reps!

As usual, there are a few things to check out on the discussions board, including a job opportunity and news of upcoming évents organised by
www.tesol.fr and www.thelanguagenetwork.fr

- two associations it’s well worth joining, if you haven’t already.

Any comments or suggestions, please let me know.

Cheers, Sean
