Much of the time Enneagram teaching focuses on the negative aspects of our Type. In 2017 we will see how each of the 9 Enneagram Types has lost sight of an important quality, their Essence, and has come to create a mimic of this ideal. Type 1, for instance, The Perfectionist, has lost sight of the fact that we are all perfect as we are and instead has come to believe that people are not acceptable as they are, but must be good, responsible and hard-working and do things the ‘correct’ way or they will be judged harshly. Hence, they are constantly seeking improvement and criticising themselves. Their path of Serenity is one of accepting what is, without judgment.
We will be learning from each other about the times when we have been close to our Essence and learning how to build this positive experience into our lives more.
