Leading Innovation within large organisations is an incredibly challenging, ever-changing and rewarding pursuit that requires so much more than a process or set of tools. This Meetup provides a place to talk about the reality of Innovation, in all its messy complexity.
Enterprise Innovation Melbourne is a group of change-makers who come together to support each other in driving impact - exploring the diverse capabilities, structures, mindsets and strategies required to navigate the complex path between creating the space for Innovation to exist and delivering true, measurable impact.
We convene virtually and in-person for presentations, discussions and social connection - centring each event on a central theme. The ambition is one of learning via both new thinking and sharing experiences, enhanced by creating opportunities to develop your own network of professionals working with likely similar challenges.
The group and events are highly inclusive and suitable for professionals new to Innovation, curious about how to apply innovation-based approaches to their own work and seasoned campaigners. The vibe is casual with a desire for brutal honesty, so that we can get past ego and get to the truth of what is working and what isn't.
Welcome to Enterprise Innovation Melbourne, we look forward to meeting you soon.
After conversations we have had with corporate innovators in Melbourne, during the last few months, we thought it would be good to revive this Meetup as a group where 'Innovation Inside Big Organisations' can be discussed by practitioners and people interested in joining the club.
The COVID crisis is putting many internal Innovation teams under much pressure. We would love to create a safe space, where hot topics can be discussed with no "bubble wrap", contributing to an ever-evolving scene of corporate Innovation in Australia.
With that in mind, we (Fabio Oliveira, Director of Innovation, and Cam Birrell, Innovation Lead at WorkSafe Victoria) are happy to announce our very first Meetup as new organisers of this group!
Keeping Innovation alive during a crisis:
Although we hear a lot about Innovation being the best answer to get out of a crisis, their is often a gap between philosophy and reality. Many big organisations leave Innovation to the side, reducing resources or even killing efforts altogether when the sky is not as blue as it could be.
Join us to discuss possible paths to keep Innovation alive in your organisation.
We will be talking to Sarah McArthur, Head of Innovation Practice at City of Melbourne on her approach to Innovation during challenging times.
Looking forward to seeing you next week.
