Why does empathy matter in what we do? Because we are designing for emotional creatures with feelings aka humans. While some of us are great at the pragmatic parts of UX, such as reducing clicks, and streamlining navigation, how about making users feel happy. For example, in Google's HEART framework (http://www.entrepreneurial-insights.com/google-heart-framework-measuring-quality-ux-user-experience/) for measuring UX, happiness is the #1 metric. This event will explore our inner-selves and what makes us tick from an empathetic standpoint and how to use empathy in our practice.
