Bukhara and Samarkand at a Glance
For travelers headed to Uzbekistan, Bukhara and Samarkand are the highlights of many an itinerary. With fascinating histories dating back to the Middle Ages, these two destinations are most well known as central stopping points on the Silk Road, where cultures, art, cuisine, and histories of the time converged to create completely unique civilizations.
Now, these two cities give history lovers and culture seekers the opportunity to touch ancient ruins, marvel at some of the best Muslim architecture in the world and dive into an epicenter of Middle Eastern heritage. It’s all possible over the course of two short days, so you don’t even have to miss work.
