The Republics at a Glance

The Republics of Armenia and Artsakh are situated at a cultural, historical, and religious intersection and located at the crossroads between Europe and Asia in the southern Transcaucasia region. Artsakh also known also by its' second official name as the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, it is a de facto independent country that is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan. Since the breakup of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh have de facto governed their own affairs. Artsakh is only accessible by land through Armenia. The area's nature is breathtaking and brimming with curious cultural and historical attractions.
