Colchester Humanists meet to discuss ' What has religion ever done for us?'
Discussion: 'What has religion ever done for us?' A fascinating question. Would the world have been a better place without religion as we know it? Plenty to discuss. Newcomers always welcome.

What we're about

We are a group of people in Essex, and in some cases beyond, who have no religious faith but support the principles of Humanism, including:

An approach to life based on humanity and reason

Decisions based, not on any dogma or sacred text, but on the available evidence and our assessment of the outcomes of our actions

Belief in individual rights and freedoms

But also that individual responsibility, social cooperation and mutual respect are just as important.

We attend Essex Skeptics in the Pub in Chelmsford - see http://essexskeptics.co.uk/ We also have local discussion groups in Colchester, Southend & the London Borough of Havering.

A few meetups occur at private addresses. These addresses are not shown on either of our websites, but can be found in our members' newsletter. Members' subscriptions are very low - maximum £10.00p.a. with reductions for students/couples/pensioners. To join as a full subscribing member contact the Membership Secretary at scott.j.holmes@gmail.com and ask for a membership pack, or click on "More" then on "Files" to get a membership form.
