What we're about

This meetup is for people who are interested in the technical side of Ethereum. From developers to entrepreneurs, our community members have access to a global network of innovators, business thought leaders, and blockchain enthusiasts.

Most of our communication happens over slack:

( https://join.slack.com/t/ethereum-columbus/shared_invite/enQtMjkyNjI5NTY5MDI1LTQzY2RkMDQwZDM5MDNjN2JkMzExMDJjODhiNWEzYTU2Zjg3ZTkzNmFjNDFlY2Q2MTEyYzVjNjg3NmYwZjlkOGQ )

ICOs and investing strategies will probably come up, but generally we'll try to focus discussions on

- How to write dApps

- How to secure your dApps so you don't pull a Parity (and lose millions of user dollars)

- How some of the Ethereum's competitors work (LSK, Waves, EOS?)

- How Ethereum could implement new features to increase their competitive advantage OR why Ethereum won't implement those features

- What kinds of attacks Ethereum is open to and what kinds of attacks it is protected against

- Additional technologies closely tied to Ethereum (Smart contracts, ghost protocol, whisper)

If you want to learn or teach things like the above, join us.

ConsenSys is sponsoring this Meetup. ConsenSys is a venture production studio building decentralized applications and various developer and end-user tools for blockchain ecosystems, primarily focused on Ethereum.
