Viktor Tron (https://twitter.com/zeligf) is the main developer behind Swarm (http://swarm-gateways.net/bzz:/theswarm.eth/), one of the three major protocols of ethereums web3 platform. Swarm is a distributed storage platform and content distribution service with an upcoming ethereum-based incentive layer for bandwidth as well as insurance for long term storage.
Swarm (http://swarm-gateways.net/bzz:/theswarm.eth/) enables the retrieval of data by its hash, making it possible to store all the data an application needs in a decentralised manner. Together with other components of the ethereum ecosystem like the ENS system, this enables loading entire applications by name (e.g. bzz://swarm-explorer.eth/ (http://swarm-gateways.net/bzz:/swarm-explorer.eth/)) without involving any central servers at all, thus enabling truly decentralized applications.
Next Friday (May 5th) Viktor is in Vienna and will present a progress update about the web3 infrastructure and Swarm.
