What we're about

Ethical Open Ottawa (EOO) welcomes those who want to connect authentically, and be part of an intentional and heart-centred community which looks beyond traditional relationships.

Regardless of your orientation, gender, relationship model or status, this group is about finding new ways of communicating and creating more love and intimacy in our lives. Our goal is to be a social and educational resource on relationship topics, including polyamory and ethical non-monogamy.

We offer monthly discussion nights, outdoor social events like hiking and picnics, and happily cross-promote poly-friendly events for other groups.

Our goal is to create a safe space for folks to connect and be part of a strong, accepting and supportive community. Please review our Membership Rules (https://www.meetup.com/Ethical-Open-Ottawa/pages/30296851/EOO_Membership_Rules/) and Safer Space Guidelines (https://www.meetup.com/Ethical-Open-Ottawa/pages/30296860/EOO_Safer_Space_Guidelines/) before asking to join.

Questions, comments and feedback are very welcome! Please contact EOO Organizer Ellen D (https://www.meetup.com/Ethical-Open-Ottawa/members/187541600/).

Bi-weekly Poly Chat Online

Online event

As we continue through the pandemic, we are hosting virtual events on the first and third Friday to give us all some time to chat about polyamory and ENM, ask questions or just connect and see some friendly faces. Members are encouraged to submit ideas ahead of time for topics. Please note that your video must be turned on for this event to create better connection by being able to see faces. The nature of the discussion makes the arrival of latecomers rather disruptive, so to maintain the flow of conversation, if you can't log on by 7:40, we ask you to join at the next event.

Winter Holiday Celebration

Private Home

The holidays are often a time for reflection and connection. Ian and Ellen warmly welcome you to their home for a Holiday celebration. Please feel free to invite your friends, partners, family members... all are welcome. We invite you to bring a small wrapped gift and participate in a special gift exchange. Please keep it under $5, (no really, under $5, it's all about how we exchange them that matters), and we'll aim to do the exchange around 9. We will have snacks and non-alcoholic beverages available and we'd love it if you also brought some food and/or drink to share. Don’t worry about buying or making anything fancy, just whatever you feel inspired to bring ... storebought or home-made items are equally welcome. Anything that speaks to your own holiday traditions would be amazing. We request that if you drink or use marijuana, you do so responsibly, keeping in mind that this event is about connecting with others authentically and respectfully. If you want to use the hottub, please bring a towel and robe. Suggested donation of $5 to help with costs of hosting. Any surplus will be donated to . Allergy warning: A dog and two cats live here too. Childcare for children over the age of 4 is available with advance notice.
