Here is a chance to get together for a non-business, social and fun event.
Bring your partner, bring the whole family!
Have you been to the big Etobicoke Fireworks show?
I'm also inviting members of my other meetup group. We are coming for a fun time to celebrate Canada Day. It is not a business event.
Join us for this spectacular light show in Etobicoke Centennial Park. Dress warmly for the evening. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Plan to arrive in the park for about 8:30pm, as the darkness is beginning. Fireworks usually begin at 10:00pm and run for 10 to 15 minutes.
Come earlier to pick-up some tasty ribs!
This is a very busy and crowded place. It is a part of the Etobicoke Ribfest weekend sponsored by the Rotary Club. I recommend parking on a residential side street somewhere a few blocks south and east of the park and then walking the rest of the way. There will not be any available parking spaces in the park in the evening. I like to park on any one of the side streets off of Renforth, south of Rathburn. You can get home again afterwards quickly and easily if you park here.
This is a totally free event. There is no charge to get into the park or to enjoy the fireworks show.
You will find me in the baseball field, south east of the fireworks launch site. Look for the group's Meetup sign or give Ralph a call. I will have a red Blue Jay Baseball cap on and a beard.
Fireworks take place in the large soccer fields just north of the Olympium Swim Centre. The central fireworks area is fenced off, with spectators all around. We will be sitting directly opposite one of the baseball diamonds (on the third base side).
Here's how to find us:
I will be wearing a RED shirt
and RED Blue Jay baseball hat.
I have a white beard
I will have a couple of red folding lawn chairs setup.
I will be in the big field directly opposite where the fireworks are at
North of the Olympium and South of the Ski Hills
I will be near a baseball field, along the third base side
My cell is[masked] call if you are looking for me
We are gathering for 8:30pm, the actual fireworks start for 10:00pm
If you are driving, park your car as far away from the park as possible on a side street and walk into the park on foot. There will be no parking available in the park.
See you there!
Happy Canada Day!
