Dr. Seuss can best explain this group: Here are some who like to run.
They run for fun in the hot hot sun.
We see them come, we see them go.
Some are fast and some are slow.
Where do they come from, I can't say.
But I bet they have come a long, long way. This is not a group for serious runners. This is a group for people who enjoy running in a non-competitive friendly atmosphere, and who equally enjoy being in nature. Running on treadmills is like listening to music on AM radio. Running on streets is like listening to a CD. Running on trails is like being at a concert with a front row seat! On our runs we will take time to catch our breath, or have our breath taken away by the beauty of nature. We will stop to notice an amazing view, an amazing pattern in a tree, an amazing insect, or anything else that is simply amazing, because nature is amazing and there is no better way to enjoy it than to expose your senses to its magnificence while flooding your brain with endorphins. We will schedule regular runs along the Etobicoke Creek trails according to schedules that meet members' needs, as well as allow members to organise spontaneous runs when they feel like it. Members will decide how fast and far to run, but on average I suspect we're looking at 5-10K. We will also plan hikes when the weather isn't suitable for running.
